a little background
Designing a home is creating a sanctuary: a series of tailored spaces that exude warmth and personality with a throughline of functionality and tendrils of poeticism. My fascination with how we choose to live, sustainable regionalism and layers of cultural inspiration, having worked, studied and travelled across Europe, Asia, and South America, has brought me to this point as an architect and designer.
Inspired by the Japanese concept of Wabi-sabi 法印, I aim to create structures and choose materials that age beautifully, can be repaired rather than dumped, and embody individuality. Training as an Architect in Ireland and then Switzerland, I currently focus on housing and individual projects that allow for the German phrase 'Gesamtkunstwerk', meaning total artwork, paying attention to details, interiors, landscape, furniture, textiles and the wider public/environment while ensuring the technical construction of a build. Interest and involvement in all aspects of the design process result in rich, cohesive projects rooted in client relationships and collaboration.
